Built in 1893, on the confluence of the Fiddich and the Spey rivers in the heart of Speyside, The Craigellachie hotel has a worldwide reputation as a base for fishing, shooting, relaxing and of course, whisky.


Where better to sample Scotland’s finest export than in a bar that was opened over 120 years ago for that very purpose? On the banks of the River Spey, The Quaich bar in The Craigellachie boasts one of Scotland’s largest selections of single malt whiskies.


The Quaich offers a large selection of single malt whiskies by the glass, with well over 700 bottles. The selection includes popular locally made whiskies and some unique ones which can only be found at The Craigellachie. The Copper Dog is The Craigellachie’s bar and eatery located at the basement level of the hotel. Mischievously named after the cylinders distillery workers used to pilfer whisky The Copper Dog is a place to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.


The Copper Dog showcases the best of local fare. Food is freshly prepared and sourced within a 40 mile radius from local handpicked suppliers. The bar is well stocked with a great range of local whiskies, craft beers and a selection of real Scottish ales from Spey Valley Brewery and Windswept Brewing Company among other local breweries.
